At Thrive Bowen Therapy, every session is tailored to you as an individual.
No two bodies are the same, and no two treatments are the same. Your session is guided by how your body is presenting on the day, along with your comfort, goals and wellbeing needs.
Bowen Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive approach that supports the body to release tension, calm the nervous system and encourage natural balance and recovery.
Most clients describe sessions as deeply relaxing and restorative.
What Happens During Your Session
Your session takes place in a calm, comfortable environment where you remain fully clothed and relaxed on the treatment table.
Gentle, precise Bowen movements are applied over specific muscles, fascia and connective tissue across the body.
These subtle techniques are designed to work with the nervous system rather than force change.
During your session, the body is encouraged to:
✓ Enter a deep state of relaxation
✓ Reduce muscular tension and holding patterns
✓ Support nervous system calming and regulation
✓ Encourage natural movement and mobility
✓ Support the body’s own recovery processes
There are natural pauses between sequences, allowing your body time to respond and integrate the work.
Many clients find these pauses just as powerful as the movements themselves.
What You May Experience After Treatment
Everyone responds differently, however common experiences include:

Aftercare & Support
To support your results, you may be given simple aftercare suggestions tailored to your needs.
This may include gentle movement, hydration, rest, or light stretching where appropriate.
These recommendations are designed to support your body’s natural adjustment process, not overwhelm it.
Working With Your Body
For your treatment to be as effective as possible, it is important that I have an accurate understanding of your current health and wellbeing.
Please inform me of:
✓ Any changes in your health or symptoms
✓ New injuries or concerns
✓ Changes in stress levels or energy
✓ Any discomfort during or after sessions
This allows each treatment to be adjusted safely and appropriately.
Confidentiality & Respect
Your personal information is always treated with care and confidentiality.
Everything discussed in your sessions remains private and is only used to support your care.
Booking, Cancellations & Respecting Time
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice so the appointment can be offered to someone else.
Late cancellations or missed appointments impact clinic availability and other clients waiting for care.
Policies are as follows:
✓ 24 hours’ notice is appreciated for all changes
✓ Less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a 50% fee
✓ Two missed appointments without attendance will require full payment to rebook
This helps ensure fair access to appointments for all clients.
